respectfully disagree with this point
Actually, I'm going to have to respectfully disagree with this point. To clarify, I'm sure there have been many technical improvements to the phasing system, but from an implementation standpoint it seems like phasing is more haphazardly thrown in than anything else.
For instance, I thought the phasing in the death knight starting area was extremely well done. You're constantly flying back and forth between and Acherus and the Scarlet Enclave and generally every time this happens you come back to find the world in a very different phase. The act of flying back and forth provides a nice visual blocker to the act acheter wow gold of phasing so it's not as if the world and creatures around you completely change as you turn in a quest. On the flipside, it seems like very few considerations to the continuity of the player's experience have been taken in Cataclysm. For instance, I'm standing in front of an NPC in Vashj'ir and a phased vignette begins. Awesome, except for the part where the 150 players surrounding me suddenly disappear into oblivion. Intellectually, I know exactly what has happened and why, but it's a very abrupt disruption to my experience as a player. Similar events happen all over the world where things suddenly pop in and out of existence as my quest state changes and it just seems like the implementation team took less time to ensure things were (for the most part) smoothly hooked up like they were in Wrath.
