Maybe it's just my rose-colored glasses speaking for me, but I played the game for a few years before flying ever came about. The world seemed a lot bigger back then, and a lot more epic.po world of Warcraft

I'm more than happy to give no flying a shot again in Warlords, just like we do currently while leveling up in Pandaria. I would probably like to be able to fly in Draenor at some point though, perhaps in a way similar to what was said at Blizzcon (I believe) where flying would be implemented in launch-areas when the next content patch came out, at which point the new areas would become no-flying zones.
